I started blogging during the summer of 2009. I was a young woman completely lost in her emotions; the only way I could make sense of my reality was through writing. I documented this season of healing solely for myself until I slowly (and unintentionally) built an audience. I found out that many were, at that time, going through the same turmoil – the big, magical blessing of shared brokenness. More and more, I wept, I wrote, and I trod on until the weight of the past no longer crushed me. Time passed by, and I (re)discovered my great, insurmountable love: photography. I held a camera, felt its weight, and found purpose. From being a self-portrait photographer, I learned angles and poses until I eventually became a portrait photographer specializing in beauty and fashion.
At the age of 19, I committed my life to Christ.
Since then, I have been denying the self I was born into, transcending my earthly desires, hopes, and comforts to, ultimately, tether myself to Eternity. She Makes Him Known is a product of years of learning about His character, honing my God-given skills, and seeking how the two may be intertwined – for His utmost glory.
From daily musings to travelogues, editorials, beauty reviews, and more, She Makes Him Known is a safe, honest space to document growth while, hopefully, sharing His light to His beloved.
If you are here now, you are a deep blessing. Most of all, you are beyond loved.

1. How did you get into photography?
I started as a self-portrait photographer as a teenager – before the term ‘selfie’ was even coined. Through years of trying out various styles, I discovered my lifelong passion: portrait photography. Nowadays, I shoot celebrities for a living as an official photographer for GMA Network, Inc. On my free time, I do beauty and fashion photography for myself and sometimes, for brands. Hire me?
2. What photography equipment do you use?
I alternate between a Canon 70D and a Canon 650D. I use a 50mm 1.8 for most of my blog photographs (portraits, especially) and a 40-70mm for events. I use an iPhone 6 for my Instagram images.
3. What is your religion?
I am a Born-again Christian.
4. What are your favourite praise and worship verses?
They change from time to time but for this season of my life, Isaiah 61:3 is my most loved. It says, “He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for His glory.”
5. What are your favourite books and graphic novels?
For books, I love On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King, Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert, Mere Christianity and The Problem of Pain (both) by C.S. Lewis, Letters to A Young Poet by Rainer Maria Rilke, A Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion, The Empathy Exams by Leslie Jameson, A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki, and Wonder by R.J. Palacio. For graphic novels, Daytripper by Fábio Moon and Gabriel Bá, Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi, and Blankets by Craig Thompson are my favorites. Click here to see my favourite reads from 2015.
