When I have the opportunity to mentor younger people through talks and workshops, I always tell them, “Actively pursue your craft, perfect your style – but do not limit yourself.” I learned how to shoot portraits at 18, to write about beauty and do make-up at 22, and at 24, I’m (finally!) learning how to shoot with artificial light – my biggest insecurity as a photographer. The more I learn, the more I’m amazed to see how God put these desires in me I’m discovering really complement each other.
